Part problem solver, part people nerd.
I've always been drawn to people: how we think, how we connect and what makes a community work. I spent years building tech products for companies around the world. Then I became a mom in Hermanus, and found a problem right on my doorstep. Hermanus Helpers is where all of that comes together.

The same posts, every week.
Local Facebook groups, every week. And underneath, dozens of comments with AI-made flyers and phone numbers. No way to tell who'd done good work for someone before, or even where to start.
As a mom here, I've hired help at home myself, with good experiences and bad ones. A polished CV doesn't tell you much. What their last family says does.
Not everyone has a village.
Many of us hire ours. Being able to is a privilege, so we keep it fair: helpers keep all of their pay, and we never take a cut.
What Hermanus Helpers stands for.
Connecting good people to good work.
Experienced helpers only.
We only list helpers with experience in the work they offer, like nanny work, crèche or preschool for childcare, house and pet sitting, or cleaning someone paid them for. We don't take chances with first-timers.
Trusted in the community.
Every helper has at least one reference from a past employer who has seen their work and would hire them again. We check it ourselves.
It takes a village.
Children thrive when they have secure attachments to caring adults beyond their primary caregivers. Finding your village - people you can truly trust with your children, your home and your pets - is what we're here for.
Mutual respect and dignity.
Having help at home is a privilege. Your helper is caring for your most precious people, or your home and pets, and may come from a very different walk of life. We believe in fairness, generosity, and treating this relationship with the weight it deserves - on both sides.
Heart beyond credentials.
Certificates and experience matter - but they're not enough on their own. We look for helpers who truly love what they do, not just people who need a job. Warmth, patience, and loyalty matter just as much as what's on a CV.
About our logo.
Two posts of the same height: a household and a helper, standing as equals. The warm arch between them is the trust that grows when good people find good work.
