House and pet sitting questions

What does a house sitter do?

They stay at your home overnight, look after your pets and keep an eye on things. Some are also happy to water plants, put out the bins or look after the pool. Each profile says what they're happy to do.

Will my sitter be at the house all day?

Each profile says whether the sitter is mostly at the house in the day, or goes out to other work. Choose what suits your home and pets.

Can my sitter bring someone with them?

No. Sitters come on their own, unless you say yes first.

Can sitters give my pet medicine?

Some sitters are confident with tablets, drops or creams, or injections, and their profile says so. These are their own answers, so talk it through when you plan the stay together.

How do you check sitters?

We look at every helper ourselves before they're listed, and not everyone gets in. To be listed as a sitter, they need a reference from someone who paid them to house-sit or pet-sit. We don't do police clearance or ID checks yet, so please meet your sitter and show them around before you go. More in our FAQ →

What if our plans change?

It's free to cancel up to 24 hours before the booking starts, and your fee comes back as credit. If your sitter cancels, your fee comes back as credit too.
