Summer in Hermanus - see what's on →

School runs and afternoons, sorted.

An au pair drives your children: school runs, lifts to sport, and busy afternoons at home. Book the same afternoons every week, or just the days you need.

Every au pair has a driver's licence we've seen, and a past employer who'd hire them again.

Au pair questions

What's the difference between an au pair and a nanny?

An au pair drives your children. Au pairs are nannies with a driver's licence, so the same references, calendar and fees apply. Au pair means what they do, not how old they are.

Do au pairs need their own car?

No. Some have their own car, others drive yours. Each profile says which.

How do you check au pairs?

We look at every helper ourselves before they're listed, and not everyone gets in. We see a photo of every au pair's driver's licence, and past employers confirm the work. We don't do police clearance, ID or driving-record checks yet, so please meet your au pair first, and check they're happy with your car and the route. More in our FAQ →

How much do au pairs charge?

Each au pair sets a day rate and an hourly rate, shown on their profile. Afternoons are paid by the hour. If they use their own car, add something for petrol. What's fair to pay? →

Can we book an au pair for the school holidays?

Yes. Choose On certain dates and pick the days. One booking covers up to a month.

What if our plans change?

It's free to cancel up to 24 hours before the booking starts, and your fee comes back as credit. If your au pair cancels, your fee comes back as credit too.
